MISSION: To nurture the individual, interpersonal, spiritual, and marital well-being of company leaders, managers, and co-workers.
"We are truly in the people business.
Our product happens to be food."
--Joe Tortorice, Jr., Founder and President
Over the years, this statement has become clear to us as we witness what outstanding people can do for our company. From the dishwasher position to our chief operating officer, the professional development of the human being has been the key to our growth for more than 35 years.
VISION: Employees are not simply human capital or resources; they are the future of the company. We care for and grow our people. The L.I. exists to carry out this vision.
Through our Core Values, Emotional Intelligence and Marriage Matters programs, our Leadership Institute has enriched the lives of many managers and co-workers inside and outside the workplace. We are seriously invested in developing our people in all facets of life.
HISTORY: The roots of the L.I. go back to 2005, when coaching workshops for upper-level management evolved into an Emotional Intelligence workshop. Joe Tortorice, Jr. then hired Charlie Balsam to work with our People Department director to design a 2.5 day Core Values workshop. (We have held over 30 CVWs) Our Core Values are the basis of the Leadership Institute and all workshops the company offers.
